Creation Evidence from Peru Here's our group on Macchu Pichu, one of the most spectacular sights on earth! A Creation Adventure in Peru! The high Andes area in Peru is one of the cradles of civilization. We had heard of the amazing Ica Stones, and wanted to see them for ourselves. If man never lived at the same time as dinosaurs ... We visited the Cabrera Museum in Ica This time the dinosaur wins! This amazing stone was about the size of a beach ball. More dinosaurs, this stone about the size of a football. Maybe this stone sheds light on the supposed extinction of the dinosaurs! Dr.Cabrera founded the medical school at the University of Lima. When Pizarro came to Peru in the 1530's, he found the Incas doing amazing medical procedures unlike anything that could be done in Spain or Europe. The Incas were performing heart transplants, transfusions, c-sections, amputations and other medical procedures. Ancient telescope to better see the stars and a comet! Antiquities is a very important subject in Peru Here we are at the National Aeronautical Museum at Lima
In addition to seeing the private collection of Dr. Cabrera, we visited 3 major museums showing antiquities It's a bird -- it's a plane -- it's a vase! Side view of the Flying Man Vase. Their recovery rate is about the same as in the United States today! The outdoor museum of tombs near Ica and Nasca The coastal area in Peru is one of the driest places on earth The Trident - or Candelabra -- just think, one good rain storm and it would be gone. It is at least 600 years old, no one knows how much older. Dave and Ursula atop a hill looking down at the Nasca Lines This aquaduct in Ica is over 2000 years old Up 9,000 feet -to the Cusco area high in the Andes. They call it Sacsayhuaman, and we still can't pronouce it.But that didn't stop us from having fun! We'd have trouble building this today Machu Picchu - we had heard many superliatives used to describe Machu Picchu, and we were not disappointed! Jungle mountains, raging river Looking out over Machu Picchu Of course, they didn't use mortar to hold things together After enjoying the view from atop the city, we hiked ever lower until we were in the city itself. Our Machu Picchu guide was full of information and was patient and kind In the city of Machu Picchu Half-way down into the city A view of the many terraces believed to be used to grow crops The water is still running How's this for a room with a view Llama are used as natural lawnmowers After traveling back to Cusco, we left Cusco the next day to travel by bus Lake Titicaca high in the Andes There are about 200 "Floating Islands" on Lake Titicaca, man-made islands made out of the reeds that grow by the side of the Lake. We toured one of the island which welcome tourists Is this the Nile? Am I in Egypt? So sad, we wanted the trip to keep going.
See pictures of the Ica Stones of Peru. They tell a story that shows dinosaur and man coexisting; medical procedures and technology that defy the modern myth that man is getting bigger, better, faster, smarter. Altogether the tour group saw 11,000 Ica Stones from the private Cabrera collection. The group led by Dr. Dennis Swift, also included creation researcher Don Patton, and creation author, Dennis Peterson. Dave and Ursula have the story on this and other Peruvian mysteries they explored! Evolutionary Theory is hard-put to explain how these civilizations burst so suddenly on the scene without evidence of upward Evolution. This is evidence that supports the Biblical account that God made man perfect and early life spans were nearly 1,000 years. Think how much a person could learn in 1000 years! Our trip started in Lima with several museums, then south by bus to Ica where we went to the Cabrera Museum to see the Ica Stones. Also, the Nasca Lines are near Ica. Then we flew from Lima up into the mountains to the ancient Inca capital at Cusco. Up in the mountains we went to Sacsayhuaman and Machu Picchu. Then we traveled by bus to Puno on Lake Titicaca. Then back to Lima by plane, then home. Ica Peru is where over 50,000 burial stones have been found. These stones, dated from 500 b.c. to 500 a.d., depict scenes from the life of the Nascan people. how come he was so good at drawing pictures of them! Critics say the Ica Stones are not old and authentic, they say they are new and fake. The reason there is a controversy is because of the SUBJECT MATTER the stones portrey -- man and dinosaur living together! This museum has the private collection of over 11,000 Stones collected by Dr. Javier Cabrera (1924-2001). Dr. Cabrera particularly liked to collect stones of medical procedures and also of animals. Dr. Cabrera believed the stones he collected were authentic and denied the claims of those who accused the stones of being fake. The stones have been submitted to independent labs more than three times, and their antiquity has always been upheld. Still, the "experts" claim they are fake because they show man and dinosaur together. Every inch of it was covered with man and dinosaurs fighting to the death! Of course, there are other artful evidences of man and dino's living at the same time. Cabrera collected and studied the Ica Stones that showed ancient man doing advanced medical procedures. The Spaniards attempted to force the Incas to reveal their knowledge, but the Incas resisted to the death. The knowledge was buried with the Incas, when a large percent of the population was killed off by the Spaniards and by the new Euorpean diseases. After all, they have a long and interesting history, and the dry desert conditions have preserved this history in magnificant detail. When Dr. Cabrera was named "Director of Culture for the Province of Ica", that was probably as prestigious of a title as that of founder of the medical school at Lima. Eventually, because Dr. Cabrera refused to denounce the Ica Stones as fake, he was stripped of the title as Director of Culture. He faced this public humiliation rather than go back on what he believed to be true. Spanish accounts tell of the Indians flying down from the mountains in gliding suits. Also, folklore stories tell of a boy in the 1400's who flew in a balloon over the enemy camp to spy on their activities. The Peruvians are very proud of their early aviation, and have the evidences in their National Aeronoutical Museum. This style of vase was typical for the Moche culture, another people-group dating back to the same time as the Incas. I haven't really researched it, but it may be true that the Incas hold the world record for number of BRAIN surgeries! In some areas of ICA, over 45% of the skulls show brain surgery! The deserts in this area hold hundreds of thousands of tombs. Because official funds are in short supply, most of the artifacts held world-wide were dug up by grave-robbers. Although this is an illegal activity that now has stiff penalties, over the years many have made their livlihood by digging for these graves and then selling the artifacts to museums and private collectors. The tombs were built like under-ground rooms, and contained mummies, pottery, textiles, gold, carved stones and other artifacts. The Peruvians buried their dead using natural mummification. Because of the dry conditions, the bodies and also the textiles are preserved in vivid detail. Ancient Peruvians grew cotton in various colors, including blue! This mysterious sand formation is found on the side of a dune facing the Pacific Ocean -- we took this picture from a boat off the coast. This etching in the sand has been here since before Pizarro in the 1500's -- and no one knows what it means. Van Danican, of the alien persuasion, thought it may direct the aliens as to where to land. Dr. Dennis Swift, our Creation Tour guide, thought possiblity it was a symbol of a plant that the Inca's wished would grow in the region. Some say it might be a treasure-map - except no one has ever found the treasure. Another mystery Peru is famous for is the Nasca Lines. This is one of the only places you can see any lines without actually being air-borne. The Incas drew arrow-straight rectangles that shoot straight over mountains and continue with amazing precision on the other side -- and also many curious animals and unusual designs. When you are on the ground, you can't see that there is a line at all. They weren't re-discovered until the 1930's when airlines started flying over the area. We did take a flight over the Nasca Lines, and maybe in the future will share some of those pictures too! No one has the final word about why the lines were made, or even for sure when. The Incas built 50 aquaducts around Ica originally, bringing life to the dry desert. 35 of them are still working and are still the supply of water to the area. Normally you get a day or so to adjust to the altitude before sight-seeing, but on this particular trip our flight up to Cusco was cancelled due to a bomb-threat, and we couldn't fly up until the next day. So here we are, not getting nearly enough oxygen, sight seeing on the same day as the flight! This amazing place was one of the reasons we wanted to come to Peru. These gigantic stones were cut to form a 3-D puzzle - stones so mammoth, cut so precisely, fit together perfectly without any mortor. This area of the world is prone to earth-quakes, and these stones have stayed together so tight that even today you cannot get a piece of paper into the seam. When were they built? Accepted history says in the 1400's by the Incas -- but perhaps the translation should read not MADE by the Incas, but USED by the Incas, which would make them of undetermined age. The stones are very large, we would have difficulty even today moving them. They were quarried over 9 miles away, over mountainous terraine and a raging river. Then the cutting, We probably couldn't duplicate the precision. Stone experts have said that the stone work is similar to a half a world away in Egypt -- not a surprise considering the Biblical account of populating of the earth after the Tower of Babel. First comes the train ride from Cusco. This took 3 hours or so, a hearty soul could hike it in 4 days. Of course, remember we are still at 9000 feet and only starting to get enough air. As it turned out, the train ride was an event in itself that would have been worth the trip, even if Machu Picchu wasn't at the other end! The terraine we crossed taking us to Machu Picchu was so amazing it made your eyes hurt! ...First the train, then the bus, then the hike up the steep path...finally, come around the corner of the mountain, and there it is laid out in front of you... the ancient city of Machu Picchu. Most of what is known is not known for sure. Why did they build it on a mountain top? Who lived there? When was it built? Many theories, some more accepted than others, but even the accepted theories are open to question. The Incas built the city...or, a different translation...they used the city. is that alot of technology went into building this city. Advanced civil engineering was required to keep this city in its place atop the steep mountain. Have I told you about all the earthquakes that happen in this area? Even though evidences of avalanches from earthquakes are seen off in the mountain slopes, the ancient structures of the city are secure and not damaged. The aquaducts are still delivering water to the city! The stone buildings were originally covered with thatched roofs Now we understand why the "Flying Man" was wearing his glider-suit! The city is both above us and below us We went from Cusco, elevation 9000 feet, up to Puno and Lake Titicacca, at 12,500 feet. Here's one of the shopping malls we passed on the way! Interesting, the third largest lake in the world, the highest navigatable lake in the world, and most interesting from a Creationist viewpoint, it is SALT water. Kind of like after the Flood, a pocket of ocean was captured in the folds as the mountains heaved up to 12,500 feet! The people who make these islands and live on them are following the traditions of their ancestors who have lived this way for an unknown centuries. Groups of 7-10 or more families live together on each of these islands. Although anchored near the Peruvian city of Puno, during storms sometimes an island will break loose and cross the lake to Bolivia! The reed is central to their lives.
Here's what they do with the reed:
Make their island out of reeds
Make their houses out of reeds
Make their beds and furniture out of reeds
Make their boats out of reeds
EAT the shoots of the reed as a vegetable
Trade on the mainland for other necessities
BRUSH their teeth with the shoots
Use as fire wood
Feed to their guina pigs, which they then eat
And I'm not sure if I remembered everything! They spent several hours showing us their daily routines. They have solar power enough to watch a 5 inch TV, of which they are very proud and had to turn it on for us to prove it worked. The reception using an antenna reminded me of the TV I grew up with! Here's food for thought, Of the 200 islands, they are divided into TWO main peoples who are unrelated but have largely similar styles of living. One is European in physique and features, and uses an old language found in many parts of the mainland. The other group has Mongolian features and uses a language not related to any of the other regional languages. They have been a seperated group beyond anyone's rememberance. I can think of ways that could relate to the Tower of Babel. Even if it happened later than that, it is evidence of world-wide travel before popular History says people started traveling the globe. And similar, in nearby Tiahuanaco in Bolivia, across the Lake, there are carved "faces" in the ancient stone walls that depict humans of all facial types or what is commenly called "races". Turns out the same reeds grow on the Nile, and Egyptians used to make boats out of them too. Not surprising, if they shared a common ancestor, like Noah.
Also, we asked our Peruvian guides what kind of animal that was supposed to be on the front of the boat, and she said it was a dragon. We asked if she had ever seen an animal like that in the Lake, and she said No, but her grandfather used to talk about seeing them. Amazing but true, there is Creation Evidence in Peru!
